The world is living in a digital age. This is a world where major cities have become global communities. A survey conducted by Common Sense Advisory, a market research company specialising in carrying out research into industry trends in language services, translation, localisation, interpreting and globalisation, entitled “Translation at Fortune 500 Companies” found out how Fortune 500 companies use and benefit from using professional translation service.

 

  • Businesses that expanded their translation budgets were 1.5 times more likely than their other Fortune 500 peers to report an increase in total revenue.

  • Roughly three quarters of Fortune 500 companies added new markets – either international or domestic multicultural – over the past one year.

  • The companies that translated information in order to communicate with and retain their partners were 2.67 times more likely to experience revenue increases. They were also 2.6 times more likely to generate improved profits.

  • Fortune 500 companies that translated to keep up with or to gain an edge over their competitors were 2.04 times more likely to have an increase in profits and 1.27 times more likely to generate augmented earnings per share (EPS).

     

 

Voice over services are often needed to narrate a script in the background of a documentary, short film or a presentation or an animated video describing a service or product of a company. There are professional VO artistes who record their voice by reading a script in a studio under professional settings. A company providing such services will have the latest technological set up to record audio as well as have many VO talents providing different kinds of voices – male, female, young, mature, accented etc.

 

Such professional service providers offer high quality services and are cost effective in the long run. There is no short cut to quality and businesses should remember this when trying to cut corners.
