Here is a brief summary of the nature of God, which contains the principles of faith and obedience. Jehovah our God is the only living and true God; he only is God, and he is but One God. Let us have no desire to have any other. It is also true to say that we are commanded to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and body, and put him above every other creature whatever kinds they maybe, and love nothing else but what we love for God.
Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Deuteronomy 6:4
The voice of God in the scripture speaks externally and internally, and they will follow him in the exercise of faith, a good shepherd will lead his sheep besides the still waters, Jews did not follow Christ, but turned their backs on him, and rejected him, this shows that they did not know who they had in their midst.
Our appearance don’t always tell the true story, for early in our growing years we learn to look negatively when our thoughts are far away. Although we close our eyes and try to visualize who and what God looks like, we come up short every time, for the concept that we have of God is usually far from who he really is.
Who is God?
God is the omnipotent Supreme Being who is the creator of the universe and is holy, true, and faithful. He is everything benevolent and personal, God lies within our culture and conscience, and He cannot be understood inside of science nor be measured by physics. God is the ultimate spirit, able to manipulate energy through space.
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7
God is spirit, and the people who worship him must worship in spirit and truth, John 4:24
What does it mean by worship God in the spirit?
It means that God does not have a body like we humans do, God is not a human that he should lie, what he has done for one he will do for the others, when the scriptures speaks of God’s hands and feet and ear, its talking a bout a visual figurative imagery of speech so that we can better assimilated the understanding in our minds, and it is not implying that God has a body, for the Lord is omnipresent, he is everywhere at the same time.
The nature of God means that he exist outside the limited sphere of time, so we generally refer to God in three modes of consciousness. The trinity compose of father son and Holy Ghost.
But the more you know about God, the more reverence you have of his awesome power. The nature of God usually refers to the belief in one monotheistic religions from a Western prospective. The nature of God is unique in Holiness, pure and undefiled without been diluted.
Christens believe in the nature of God, and he has certain characteristics which makes him a supreme being. Among the qualities that God possess are his triune nature, where the trinity consist of three distinct persons, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. We often refer to the Father as Jehovah God, the Son, as Jesus who died for our sins, and the Holy Ghost as the comforter who comes to help us to understand and provide the fountain of knowledge for us to know more about God.
I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. Revelation 22:13
Consciousness, omnipotence, omnipresence
God remembers the thoughts of us all, and he knows what has already happened, and is fully conscious of how it has happened. Absolute knowledge about God cannot be attributed to humans, wisdom of this nature is only given to us by a small degree.
Omniscience means that God is all knowing and he has unlimited knowledge of everything and everyone living in the universe. He is the Lord God faithful and true.
Omnipotence means that God is all powerful and has unlimited power
Omnipresencemeans that God is always present. There is no place that you could go to escape God’s presence. God is not limited by time or space. He is present at every point of time and space.
God’s infinite presence is significant because it establishes that God is eternal. God has always existed and will always exist.
In the discourse about the return of Jesus, it’s hardly any point making inquiry when it will come, for of that day and that hour knoweth no man. Christ, as God, our duty is to watch and pray, for none of us has this unique knowledge of the return of the Lord, we all have to watch and wait.
God made the heaven and the earth and transcendent that which he has made, he goes beyond the boundaries of creation, and is not bound by that which he has created, but is distinctly separate from what he has made. To many people who do not understand the scriptures, God is an unknown commodity on sale to the highest bidder. God expresses himself to us through human agency and he becomes alive and personal in our lives, God hears our prayers, he can be touched by our aches and pains, he realizes that we are extremely short on faith, but sees through the intelligence of civilization.
God is eternal has no beginning and has always existed, while God is eternal we humans are mortal, and we have an immortal soul, but the nature of God is eternal, not merely different but totally different in a supreme being that will continue without disruption.
Eternal nature simply means living forever. Although it is difficult for the earthly mind to conceive the concept of eternity. In our spiritual state we have the earnest of our inheritance, which belief we have woven within our faith the sense of timeless existence.
But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. Mark 13:32
Those of us who serve God by his Spirit, who boast in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh, We have here our Lord Jesus coming under the common fatigue of traveler, who take long journeys, Being wearied, he sat thus on the well; he had no sofa to rest upon.
He sat thus, as people wearied with travelling would take a break. Surely, we ought readily to submit to be like the Son of God in such things as these. Take time out and talk with others as we travel along life’s journey.
Christ asked a woman for some water. She was surprised because he did not show the anger of his own nation against the Samaritans, Jesus converted this woman, by showing her the ignorance of sinfulness, and guiding her into the need for a Savior. By offering her living water, which is the Spirit of God.
Christ shows that the water of Jacob’s well yielded was for a very short duration of satisfaction. But from the comfort of that water they drank, they would surely be thirsty again soon.
But whoever partakes of the Spirit of grace, that God is offering the result is completely different, that water will be inside the person springing up into eternal life, and the taste of the gospel is like someone drinking from a well, after they have been converted they will never be thirsty again. So then God whose name alone is JEHOVAH, is the most high over all the earth. He is the perfection of timeless deity, abiding in the glorious kingdom of infinity.
